I got tickets for four different concerts before I ran out of money. I had hoped to add Better Than Ezra to the list, but the bathroom remodel is already over budget!
Here are our plans:
- The Dead – Buffalo, NY, April 21 – My second Dead show; sad I never got to see them before Jerry died.
- Gordon Lightfoot – Chautauqua, NY, July 24: It’s our anniversary. It’s also the first venue I ever saw a concert at (1993), and that concert was Gordon Lightfoot.
- Peter, Paul and Mary – Bethel, NY, July 31: I grew up listening to this trio, but never saw a show.
- Phish – Darien Lake, NY, April 13: My wife’s a huge fan. I like their music, but this will be my first Phish show.
Should be a fun concert season.

Cutting it mighty close between Azkatraz & Gordon Lightfoot, aren’t you?
Hadn’t even really thought about it … nor had I thought about the days off work that will require. Hmmm. Well, too late. Got the tickets; I’ll have to make it work.
Well, no job is worth missing out on a Gordon Lightfoot concert.
Looks like someone forgot the Bert Lams and Tom Griesgraber concert.
$10 a ticket man. It’ll be amazing.
I’d love to, but I’ve been stuck at work late two nights already this week. Not looking good for a night out tomorrow.
Just be, uh, careful with what might be passing around at a Phish concert.
Haha. Yes, we’re quite aware of that. Actually, someone tried to pass us something special last year at the Allison Krauss & Robert Plante show we went to.
Looks like a Great concert season Travis!
Ah! I grew up on Gordon Lightfoot music, as well as groups like America, Simon & Garfunkel. During our courting days, Toni and I last caught Gordon in concert back in the late ’70’s at the Ole’ Front Row Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio.
I had family that loved to camp and fish at Chautauqua Lake and had the joy of many summers down at the beautiful Chautauqua Institute village and the quaint amphitheater there. One of the first concerts I ever attended was with a great singer/musician , Jose Feliciano.
Enjoy!!
