- Update (I’ll be adding updates all day): Another great satire: U.S. Media Concerned Over Voters not Supporting Correct Candidates:
In a disturbing new trend, increasing numbers of U.S. voters are throwing their support behind candidates that can’t win, media representatives said yesterday at a National Press Club conference. And if the trend continues into the future, they warn, it’s possible that the winning candidates won’t win anymore….
The discussion was briefly interrupted when a young man in the audience stood up and said that he thought all the candidates deserved equal time in the primary debates, and accused the media of bias and favoritism. The conspiracy theorist was quickly tasered and removed from the conference, after which the discussion turned to how the media can help to improve the primary process.

- NRO: Imagining a Ron Paul Presidency:
But if you think Washington is big and bloated and unresponsive and voracious in its appetite for ever-larger, ever-more intrusive government, Ron Paul is the guy who would throw a monkeywrench into the gears. Official Washington would grind to a halt; it’s hard to imagine any big expansion of government with a president who made Tom Coburn look like Robert Byrd. Four to eight years, of a broken record, “No, I’m vetoing it, it’s not in the Constitution… no, I’m vetoing that too, it’s not in the Constitution.”

Weather
- The huge Northeastern snowstorm is preventing the Ron Paul Blimp from making it to Boston for the Tea Party. But hey, it’s in the air, and there have at least been a few news items about it…not on FoxNews, Drudge, MSNBC, CNN, or any other MSM station. But there you are.
Editorial: Why Ron Paul Matters
It doesn’t matter if you agree with all his policies or not: Ron Paul is worth voting for. If you were told there was a candidate who was running for president with one primary goal in mind – to limit his own power – would you be interested? This is exactly why Ron Paul matters. He’s the man who wants to hand power back to us, at a local level, and strip it from the folks on Capitol Hill who have lost touch with local realities because of their quests for power. That is Paul’s number one policy, and everything else he believes falls under that overarching goal.
He also matters because he’s the only candidate you can actually believe. You can YouTube video clips of him from 20 years ago in which he’s saying the exact same things he’s saying now. He’s been exceedingly consistent and principled, and you can’t say that about most of the other candidates who change what they say and how they say it by reading polls.
Ron Paul matters because he’s excited a huge number of American citizens for whom politics had become a game we didn’t want to play anymore. It’s true that Paul is generating a lot of support from the disillusioned, and this is a good thing. There are enough Americans who stay home on voting days, many of whom are just fed up with the popularity contest that has become American politics.
Ron Paul matters because he is becoming the first truly successful grassroots campaign that is using the new media to get its message across. He has a far smaller campaign staff than the big names in either party, and it’s not because he doesn’t have the money! It’s because his stance on liberty has generated unprecedented volunteer support and excitement, and his supporters have creatively channeled that excitement through Google, YouTube, and Meet-up groups. Ron Paul is breaking all the typical presidential campaign rules, and it’s succeeding. In fact, I think much of the MSM is ignoring Paul because if Paul does well, it demonstrates that the internet has become more important than they are, and they lose their elitist status.
Ron Paul matters because his election will shake up politics-as-usual in this country. Paul is not the kind of guy who’s going to jump into the normal political games (dodging questions, not giving straight answers, flip-flopping). He’ll put out exactly what he believes, take it or leave it. I’d urge you to consider voting for Ron Paul. Go to ronpaul2008.com and find out what he’s about. If you like him – and you probably will – consider supporting him on December 16 at teaparty07.com, a massive fundraising campaign with the same goal as the “Money Bomb” day last month.
