Is This Really Happening?

by Travis Prinzi on August 30, 2007

On a semi-cold, rainy afternoon, Sophia is fast asleep for her nap, and I’m on the couch with a Sam Adams Octoberfest and a brand new copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s story, “Smith of Wootten Major.”

This is what an afternoon should be, and I can’t remember the last time I had one like this.

That’s just wrong. I mean, I’m happy for you and stuff; but that’s just wrong.

I’ll be right over.

Hey, it is time for Octoberfest, isn’t it? I think I need to make a trip to the store.

THIS is what cold rainy afternoons are MADE for, Travis! My sister used to tell me, “Of COURSE we love our children. But the dirty little secret is, we love them MORE when they are asleep.” Savor the moment, brother. :-D

I’d put SA Octoberfest behind Blue Moon’s Harvest Moon but ahead of Leinenkuegel’s Octoberfest

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been trying to decide which beer I’ll try next (I’m heading to the store tomorrow), so I’ll give Blue Moon a shot.
