Glenn, by the way, I can't recall to whom you're referring when you mention "Cliff."

Gaines, I agree that those are both attractive theories, though I also want to read through the book again, and probably the whole series. I have to at least finish up the Space Trilogy though before I plunge back into the HP series.

And now I'm going to email you with some entirely unrelation questions.

I think one of Granger's 20 Questions still lingering after HBP is crucial -- what exactly is involved with making a horcrux? From what is described in HBP, I'm having a hard time believing that Voldy could have accidentally made Harry a horcrux while attempting to kill him. Guess we'll have to see.

I thought the "stoppered death" theory is an interesting one, and it does jive well with my desire to see Snape vindicated as loyal to Dumbledore. As does the "evil Slughorn" theory. I need to re-read the book, but I've been inspired to hit the whole series again from the top. And Allison is in the middle of reading Book 4 right now, so I'm stuck ...

I agree about Harry as horcrux because of Voldermort trying to kill him. That doesn't make sense to me that he would try to kill a part of his soul. But Cliff LIKED the idea for this reason- Harry, the Christ figure, has to die for evil to be vanquished.

I don't buy it but he is convinced!

Glenn, I think the idea is highly unlikely, given the fact that the process for making a horcrux seems to be portrayed as long and complicated (which would make us ask, When did Lord Thingy have time to do this?) and the fact that Old Voldy tried to kill Harry, which would have resulted in the death of part of himself.

Yet "highly unlikely" is one of Rowlings' specialties, I'd say...So it's still possible. Perhaps the dark lord did find some way to purposefully (or accidentally?) make Harry a horcrux, and he planned to use Harry's intended death after the Tri-Wizard Tournament to make himself a new one.

Your description of the car accident reminded me of the TV commercial, "You must be gelling like Magellan."

What do you think of Cliff's idea that Harry is one of Voldemort's horocruxes?

Well, I've read the first two ("Obviously Dumbledore is not Jesus" and the long one about HBP being the best book). Far too much to react to in a comments section, and I'm leaving work soon. I want to post a bit on it in the near future though.

I'm quite interested in your thoughts as well.

I'm trying, I'm trying! I should have been done over an hour ago, but I've been abandoned to an agonizingly long case. Soon, hopefully!
